Our mission is to be a family of believers seeking to please God through our own personal growth in Christ, our love for one another, and our ministry to the world.

First Christian Church is an independent, Christ centered and Bible believing congregation.  We are located in the heart of Fredericksburg with Fredericksburg at heart.  This is a fellowship in which everybody is somebody.  We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds.

Our church is an active, fun-loving fellowship of believers who love Jesus and try to follow Him in practical living.  We have Sunday School Classes for every age as well as a special programs for infants, chidren and youth.

It is our desire to serve Jesus Christ to the best of our ability as the only Savior of the world.  We believe the Bible is the inerrant word of God.  It is our responsibility as believers to discover what is in the Bible.  This information guides us as we relate to God and live out the Christian faith in the twenty-first century.

On Tuesday, June 15, 2010, the residents of historic Washington Avenue and music-loving Christians from around the area gathered on the lawn at First Christian Church to celebrate the opening of the Summer 2010 Concert on the Lawn series. The audience was treated to a free hour-long concert by Mr. Anthony Campbell and his five member band. The band opened the First Christian Church concert season with "I Am A Friend of God". As the evening progressed, Anthony's inspirational songs of modern praise and worship were punctuated by his personal testimony describing his rise from a "country boy from King George" to national recognition as the winner of the 2003 the Today Show "Today's Superstar" contest. Following the band's final song of the evening, Pastor Joe Reed thanked the band and told them they had indeed "set the bar high" and he invited everyone back to enjoy all the up-coming concerts. The First Christian Church will hold a free concert every Tuesday evening through August 31st at 7:00 PM throughout the summer, rain or shine. The twelve concert series will feature many types of music sure to appeal to a wide audience. Musical genres include bluegrass gospel, contemporary Christian, gospel, country praise and worship, hip hop and Christian rock. The concerts are free and a love offering will be taken. In case of inclement weather or extreme heat, the concert will be held inside the Church.
